The specimens placed under this name in the MHNG collection are either part of the material from the 1926-27 Indian expedition of Carl & Escher or are identified as “ Calyptotrypus irroratus ?” and are thus not part of the type series. No type specimens could be identified in the NHMW collection. Box A 23 .

A junior synonym of Varitrella varipennis (Walker, 1869).
