Taxonomic history. Morley (1913b) transferred I. lanceolatus to Ischnus Gravenhorst, 1829 , but Uchida (1940b) could not be sure of the generic placement, and Townes et al. (1965) finally transferred it to Agrothereutes .

Current taxonomy. Agrothereutes lanceolatus ( Walker, 1874) ( Ichneumonidae : Cryptinae : Cryptini ).

Type locality. Japan.

Label data. First label, ‘Type’ (round label, with red margin; printed); second label, ‘B. M. TYPE /HYM./3.b.363.’ (square label; first and second lines printed and third line handwriting); third label, ‘ Japan./Coll.F. Walker./ 1913–71.’ (square label; printed); fourth label, ‘ Ichneumon /lanceolatus’ (square label; handwriting); fifth label, ‘262’ (square label; handwriting); sixth label, ‘B.M. TYPE /HYM./ Ichneumon /lanceolatus/ Walker 1874 ’ (square label; first and second lines printed and third to fifth lines handwriting); seventh label, ‘? Ischnus sp./Morley det. xii. 13’ (square label; ‘Morley det.’ printed and the remaining characters handwriting).

Condition. Not bad; the right antenna is missing after the 18th flagellomere, left antenna after the 16th flagellomere, fourth and fifth tarsomeres of the right hind leg, left hind leg except the coxa, and the right hind wing are lost.
