Taiwan voucher material: No specimen examined in this study.
Remarks: This species appears to be in Taiwanese waters. One of us ( DAE) examined a 2 m TL specimen (7 April 1988) in the collection at National Ocean University, Keelung, that was incorrectly labelled as Echinorhinus cookei ; no other information was available other than it was supposedly landed in the Keelung fish market.
Conservation status: Vulnerable.
