Material examined. Type. Lectotype, ♀ (designated by Olmi (1982)): FIJI: Viti Levu Island, Suva, bred from a cocoon collected on a tree by A. Koebele ( BPBM). Paralectotype: same locality label as holotype, 1♀ ( BPBM).

Other material. FIJI: Vanua Levu Island, Trans-insular Road, above summit, 500–550 m, 6–9.x.1979, 1♂ ( AMNH) (see remarks about Gonatopus dubius Olmi ).

Redescription. FEMALE. Apterous; length 3.7–4.2 mm. Head brown-black, except mandible, clypeus and anterior region of face (also along orbits) yellow; antenna brownish, except segments 1–5 and 10 yellow; mesosoma testaceous-reddish; petiole black; metasoma brown-black; legs testaceous-reddish. Antenna clavate. Head excavated, granulated; occipital carina absent. Palpal formula 4/2. Pronotum shiny, unsculptured, crossed by very slight transverse impression. Scutum shiny, sculptured by some longitudinal striae. Metanotum with sides protruding; lateral protrusions pointed. Metathorax + propodeum irregularly striate. Segment 1 of protarsus longer than segment 4 (49:36). Enlarged claw ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 21 – 23 ) with one large subapical tooth and one row of seven lamellae. Segment 5 of protarsus ( Fig. 21 View FIGURES 21 – 23 ) with two rows of about 17 lamellae; distal apex with about ten lamellae. Tibial spurs 1/0/1.

Hosts. Tropiduchidae ( Guglielmino et al. 2013) : in the Fiji Islands: Vanua respicienda vitiensis Kirkaldy.
