Etymology. The specific epithet is from the Latin callainus meaning the color of turquoise, and refers to the color of facial setae of the new species.
Diagnosis. The new species resembles Charippus yunnanensis ( Cao & Li, 2016) comb. nov. in the body form and shape of genitalia, but it can be distinguished from the latter by the absence of tegular bump, the presence of wide and serrulate-edged LED ( Figs 61–68 View FIGURES 61–65 View FIGURES 66–68 ) and a wide sclerotized area above the epigynal window ( Figs 69–72, 74–75 View FIGURES 69–76 ). In C. yunnanensis , the tegular bump is present, LED is not obvious and the wide sclerotized area above the epigynal window is absent ( Figs 237–240 View FIGURES 237–244 ).
Description. Male. Habitus as shown in Figs 54–55 View FIGURES 54–60 . Carapace length 2.46 (variation: 1.91–2.50, n=5); abdomen length 2.15.
