This species bears the highest chromosome number known for the subfamily: 2n=35 (34t +Xm). The autosomes are all telocentrics and the X is a large metacentric. The sizes of the autosomes are shown gradually decreasing from large to small ( Fig. 25 View FIGURE 25 A). At first metaphase there are 17 autosomal bivalents and the X ( Fig. 25 View FIGURE 25 B). As usual, the X moves to one pole with 17 autosomal halves at first anaphase ( Fig. 25 View FIGURE 25 C). There are two types of second metaphase: 17 autosomes with the X ( Fig. 25 View FIGURE 25 D) and 17 autosomes without X ( Fig. 25 View FIGURE 25 E).
