Distribution in PILA 100–2400 m, low elevation mixed forest, mixed forest in transition to low elevation forest, mixed forest in transition to cloud forest, cloud forest, low elevation oak forest. Global distribution: Nicaragua to Panama. Records: B. Gamboa 632 (INB), D. Santamaría 7261 (BM, INB, MO, PMA), E. Alfaro 760 (INB), F. Quesada 1724 (CR, INB), M. Alfaro 22 (INB).
