Key A—Key to the species of Sobarocephala View in CoL View at ENA found south of the United States, excluding those of the S. flaviseta species group.
NOTE: Species of Sobarocephala outside the flaviseta group exhibit relatively few pattern elements (such as spots, stripes, etc.), and sometimes show intraspecific variability for those pattern elements. Because of this, and because some characters used in the key couplets occasionally show intermediate states, several species are brought out at multiple parts of the key. For positive identification it is often important to examine characters of the male genitalia.
