Listed by Huddleston (1978) but no mention of British specimens by Nixon (1986), who states, however, that the traditional interpretation of the species is probably correct. No British or Irish specimens were seen by Simbolotti and Achterberg (1992) but van Achterberg has identified an English specimen in BMNH as Therophilus dimidiator .
