Type material: Holotype (male): “ Arinos M. Gerais — Brasil, 6–8.XI.1964, Exp. Dep. Zool.; 1; [label with measurements]; Epimetopus tuberculatus A. A. Rocha det.; HOLOTIPO [red]” ( MSP).
Differential diagnosis. Immediately differentiated from all other members of the genus by the markedly tuberculate dorsum and pronotal sculpture ( Fig. 124). Although the outline of the pronotum somewhat resembles that of members of the Trogoides group, the aedeagus is markedly different, much less complex and lacking dorsal processes.
Distribution. Currently known only from the type locality in Brazil ( Fig. 126).
