Distribution: S and NE India, S China, Taiwan, Laos and Vietnam, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, S Moluccas, and the Philippines.
Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (lc).
Discussion: Doe not include mordax ; see Hill and Francis (1984) Corbet and Hill (1992), and Hendrichsen et al. (2002 b). Reviewed in part by Bates and Harrison (1997) and Hendrichsen et al. (2001 b). The Taiwan record, if valid, has not been allocated to subspecies.
