Scymnus fijiensis Sicard, 1922: 353 . Nephus fijiensis: Chazeau 1982: 181 .
Described from Fiji Islands, it is a Pacific-wide species [ Papua New Guinea (including New Britain), French Polynesia, American Samoa, Western Samoa, Cook Islands)] but also in Asia ( China, Vietnam). It was not recorded by Bielawski (1973). Its occurrence in the Nouméa area may indicate recent natural spread or an accidental introduction between 1970 and 1980. This scale and mealybug insect predator (Diaspidae, Pseudococcidae View in CoL , Coccidae View in CoL ) is found on ornamental plants and in orchards.
Material examined. NEW CALEDONIA: Nouméa, Anse Vata . ( CPS), vi.1966 ( ONNC).
