Generitype of Magnolia Linnaeus.

Current name: Magnolia virginiana L. View in CoL ( Magnoliaceae ).

Note: Tobe (in Jarvis & al., Regnum Veg. 127: 63. 1993) independently chose the same type as Dandy, and later (in Hunt, Magnolias: 180. 1998) provided an illustration of the lectotype.
