Material examined (all collected by C. Binoy). Karnataka: 6♂ Coorg dt., near Chiklihole dam site, 12.xii.2019 ; 1♂ Madapura river site, 04.iv.2019 ; 1♀ Shimoga dt., Hossagadai, 19.xii.2019. Kerala: 3♂ Kasargod dt., on short palm near vegetable field, Periya, 29.ix.2018 . Tamil Nadu: 1♂ Coimbatore dt., Kurangumudi, Valparai, 01.iii.2019 .

Diagnosis. Body black with tegula, legs (except procoxa) yellowish to reddish-brown; scrobe reaching median ocellus; fore wing hyaline with brown infuscate spot below mv; mesosoma with dense umbilicate pits, with interstices rugose-punctate ( Fig. 24 View FIGURES 23–26 ); scutellum apically bilobed; metafemur unusually thick, ventrally with long comb of teeth ( Fig. 25 View FIGURES 23–26 ); metasoma laterally setose ( Fig.26 View FIGURES 23–26 ); Gt 1 with two short carina and a basal fovea, dorsum shiny ( Fig. 26 View FIGURES 23–26 ). Female metasoma acuminate apically, longer than mesosoma; male metasoma distinctly shorter than mesosoma ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 23–26 ).

Note. This represents the first host record from Opisina for A. phaeospilus .
