Distribution in Iran. Guilan ( Ghahari et al. 2010c as Dolichogenidea aethiopica ).

Distribution outside Iran. Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda ( Yu et al. 2012), Egypt ( Shenefelt 1972).

Host records. Shenfelt (1972) considers this species as a parasitoid of Achaea catella , Antigastra catalaunalis , Catalebeda sp., Diacrisia scotillum , Dioptrochasma homochroa , Gonimbrasia tyrrhea , Hamanumida daedalus , Holocera angulata , Nyodes prasinodes , Spodoptera exigua and Utethesia pulchella . Moreover, Walker (1994) and Peigler (1994) recorded A. aethiopicus from Saturniidae as Gonimbrasia tyrrhea and Holocerina angulat , and several other Lepidoptera in Arctiidae , Lasiocampidae , Noctuidae , Nymphalidae , Pyralidae and Zygaenidae . Ghahari et al. (2010c) consider this species as a parasitoid of Saturniidae . Yu et al. (2012) added Chilo zacconius and Streblote graberi as hosts of A. aethiopicus and, also, some Hymenoptera including Aphanogmus reticulatus , Brachymeria excarinata , Elasmus senegalensis and Pediobius afronigipes .
