Body spindleform; dorsal pedipalp genual setae (antapical seta) bifurcate; prodorsal shield with frontal lobe, scapular tubercles ahead of rear margin, scapular setae (sc) directed postero-laterally; coxae with sternal line, coxisternum setae 3 pairs, legs ІІ antaxial genual setae (l'') absent; tarsal empodium divided; dorsal opisthosoma middorsal ridge ending in a broad furrow before the termination of subdorsal ridges; dorsal annuli broader than ventral annuli; opisthosoma with all usual setae.
Type species: Calpentaconvexus eyrei n. sp.
Note: The new taxon is assigned to Acaricalini , Phyllocoptainae, Eriophyidae, Eriophyoidea. The new genus is similar to Pentaconvexus Huang 2001 , but can be differentiated by coxae with sternal line, legs ІІ antaxial genual setae (l'') absent, dorsal opisthosoma middorsal ridge ending in a broad furrow before the termination of subdorsal ridges.
Etymology: The genus name is a combination of Cal - and the generic name Pentaconvexus Huang 2001 , to which the new genus is similar.
