Javaulius rudis Marshall, 1956: 63 View in CoL . Type locality: C-Java, Wonosobo.
Description. Lectotype ( Fig. 18a View FIGURE 18 ). Length. Pronotum plus elytron 2.95 mm. Integument ferruginous, largely covered with appressed, brown or cream-colored, microgranulate scales. Head with transverse, angulate sulcus separating rostral base indistinct; vertex with radial furrows distinct. Eyes asymmetrically convex, drawn posteriad. Rostrum 0.85 X as long as wide, weakly converging to apex; apical declivity subglabrous, with sparse erect setae; dorsum with distinct median furrow, without ridges. Pronotum 1.03 X longer than wide; coarsely punctate-reticulate; medially simple, without costa. Elytra 1.25 X as long as wide; dorsally weakly convex; appressed scales arranged in rosette-shape around punctures; intervals with rows of erect, narrow scales, most of them brown, few of white color; sutural interval slightly raised; intervals 5–6 above declivity with tubercle; with 12 striae; stria 5, 7–8 abbreviated at base and apex. Genitalia. Penis ( Fig. 18b View FIGURE 18 ) with sides of body constricted at base, subparallel to apical third, converging to subangulate apex. Apodeme 1.52 X as long as body of penis. Transfer apparatus basally straight, in apical half curved.
Material examined. Type specimens. Male, lectotype by present designation: INDONESIA, Central Java Prov.: Wonosobo ; labels ( Fig. 18c View FIGURE 18 ); condition: fair, left mid leg broken and missing; left hind leg broken; genitalia in glycerol in microtube; DNA extraction ARC4017 View Materials (GenBank # OR557434) ( BMNH).
Notes. Marshall (1956) based the original description on two males and six females; he did not designate a holotype. The round label stating “ Holotype ” has subsequently been added by the staff of the BMNH. A lectotype is designated to ensure stability of nomenclature .
