Caucasocressa dasilepida (Mabille, 1881) View in CoL
(figures 4, 5)
Helix Dasilepida Mabille, 1881: 126 View in CoL . Type locality: ‘ Lasistan’ , Turkey.
Helix Lepidolena Mabille, 1881: 126 View in CoL . Type locality: ‘ Lasistan’ , Turkey.
Shell (figures 4, 5). Strongly depressed conical; with 5–5.25 convex whorls; teleoconch with wrinkled growth ridges and dense, short hairs; whitish, sometimes with a brownish band below the periphery; body whorl rounded; aperture almost circular; upper insertion of the peristome distinctly descending; peristome sharp, hardly expanded, with a more or less weak whitish internal rib; umbilicus moderately wide, taking slightly less than 15% of the shell breadth.
Measurements. Holotype of H. dasilepida : D= 13.2 mm, H= 6.9 mm, D/H= 1.91; holotype of H. lepidolena : D= 13.9 mm, H= 7.8 mm, D/H=1.78.
Remarks. Caucasocressa dasilepida differs from the other Caucasocressa species in the white shell with hairs. Its genitalia are unknown. There are no differences between the holotypes of Helix dasilepida (figure 4) and Helix lepidolena (figure 5) which would justify their classification as two distinct species.
Distribution and material. The exact geographical distribution of C. dasilepida is unknown.
‘Lasistan’ (holotype of H. dasilepida: MHNG ; holotype of H. lepidolena: MHNG ).
