Genus Carijoanus Carvalho View in CoL
Type species: Carijoanus ruberfasciatus (Carvalho 1945C:28). Original designation. Carijoanus : Carvalho 1954A:423 (new genus), Schuh 2002 –2013 (online catalog).
Diagnosis. Anterior portion of pronotum strongly constricted, much narrower and longer than width of head. Eyes large, with the inner margin at the level of antero-lateral margin of pronotum. Pronotum punctate. Embolium very wide, equal to or more than the width of an eye. Labium reaching the middle coxae. Antennal segment I as long as the width of head; segment II four times longer than segment I (Carvalho 1954A).
