Scotophaeus blackwalli, Mansouri et al. 2019: 5 View in CoL .
The genus Scotophaeus View in CoL is known in Algeria by only two species: Scotophaeus scutulatus (L. Koch, 1866) View in CoL captured from Tazoult in Batna ( Di Franco 1994) and Scotophaeus validus ( Lucas, 1846) View in CoL from Alger ( Simon 1899; Touchi et al. 2018), Annaba ( Thorell 1875), El Kala in El Tarf ( Lucas 1846), from Bou Saada in M’sila ( Simon 1899).
Material examined: EL ATTEUF: Palm grove of El Atteuf, pitfall traps, 1 ♀, 25.III.2015.
Previous records in Algeria: This species was noted in the paper of Mansouri et al. 2019, however, the authors did not provide any supporting data for this finding.
Distribution: Europe, Caucasus, Turkey, Iran. Introduced to North America, Peru, Hawaii ( World Spider Catalog 2024).
