1825 Beitra¨ge: 318.

PRESENT STATUS: Uncertain, a nomen dubium.

REMARKS: Wied gave a fairly good description in the Beitra¨ge but was unable to preserve his single specimen, so there never has been a preserved holotype. The type locality is Barra de Jucu. This snake was not indexed by Boulenger (1896) or by Peters and Orejas-Miranda (1970) and has not been identified in the literature.
