Holotype ♂ Label data: Holotype Bathypogon rufitarsis Hull // Mt. Serle / N. Flinders Ra. / Hale & Tindale [Aquisition No.: SAMA Database No 29-001184 ]

Allotype ♀ Label data: Allotype Bathypogon rufitarsis Hull // Mt. Serle / N. Flinders Ra. / Hale & Tindale [Aquisition No.: SAMA Database No 29-001185 ]
Condition: Very poor. Head: destroyed. Thorax: destroyed. Wings: intact. Legs: all legs missing except hind legs. Abdomen: abdomen separated from body, badly greased. Genitalia: intact
[Author’s Note: Both the holotype and allotype labels carry the designation Bathypogon rufitarsis , rather than Bathypogon rufitarsus , the published name.
[Author’s Note: Although not noted in the publication, the Mt Serle Homestead, N Flinders Range, is located in South Australia. It can be presumed, despite the lack of a label designating date of collection, that these specimens were also collected by Hale & Tindale in Nov 1924, inasmuch as the Mt Serle Homestead, where Bathypogon rufitarsus was collected, is in the same area as Owieandana, where Bathypogon ochraceus was collected and whose date of collection, November 24, is noted above.]
Additional comments: Dr. Hull, in providing precise label data for type specimens expanded label data, ie., North for N., Ranges for Ra., Island for I.
