Distribution. Nearctic. Canada: MB, NB, ON, PE, QC. USA: AL, IL, IN, KY, ME, MI, NC, NH, NY, PA, TN, VA, WV, WI.
Collection and Habitat data. All specimens from NH were found feeding on a fungus on two separate days. Found in June in NH; May to September in ME. In Canada found in mixed, hardwood, and coniferous forests. adults were taken on/in fresh gilled mushrooms on the forest floor, on small gilled mushrooms on the side of a log, on bracket fungi, and on Trametes hirsuta (Wulfen) Lloyd on a poplar log ( Klimaszewski et al. 2018).
Material. USA, Maine, York Co.: West Lebanon, 14–20.V.1991, 1 male ; 10–16.VII.1990, 1 female ; 4– 10.IX.1990, 1 female, D.W. Barry, FIT. New Hampshire, Strafford Co.: Durham , 19.VI.1963, W.J. Morse, feeding on fungus, 8 males ; 21.VI.1963, W.J. Morse, on fungus, 18 sex?
