Distribution. Nearctic, transcontinental in Canada, recorded from A/S ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021). Canada: AB, BC, LB, MB, NF, NT, ON (NPR), QC, YT. USA: AK, NH.
Collection and Habitat data. The NH specimens were collected from high elevations of usually 1524–1737m from June to September—most specimens were taken in September. Found in Vaccinium , dwarf Betula , leatherleaf litter near a lake; in Salix , Vaccinium , leatherleaf litter; in Vaccinium , leatherleaf litter with moss and grasses; in dwarf Salix litter; and in Alnus and Spirea litter; in litter along stream. In AK found in Salix , Alnus , Populus balsamea litter; litter in forest, mostly spruce, and some aspen; and shrub, alder, dwarf birch, grass, clubmoss, litter In Canada found in tamarack open forest, fir and spruce forests; from detritus on a sandy beach, and on a rotting mushroom ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021).

Comments. This northern species is found only at high elevations in NH, and probably represents a relict population from the period of glaciation. It is transcontinental in northern Canada and occurs also in Alaska ( Klimaszewski et al. 2018, 2021).
