Distribution. Nearctic. Canada: LB, MB, NB, NF, NS, ON, QC, SK. USA: ME, NH (NSR).
Collection and Habitat data. Specimens in NH were captured from June to September by FIT and pitfall traps in maple litter along a stream in a forest, and at pig dung in a bog and a pasture. Collected from June to September. In Canada found in various forested and open habitats, often in decaying organic materials: in compost near mixed forest, in dung in entrance to fox den in a pasture, in decaying sea wrack on sea beach, under dung on margin of lake, in litter on roof of an abandoned beaver lodge occupied by muskrats, in decaying moist litter in Carex marsh, and from unbaited pitfall traps in a red spruce forest ( Webster et al. 2016). In SK in compost, wrack on lakeshore; in NF captured in carrion-baited pitfall traps and flight intercept traps in conifer-dominated and mixed forests, and at coastal barrens in LB ( Klimaszewski et al. 2021).
