Distribution. Nearctic. Canada: NB, ON, QC. USA: CA, IA, KS, MA, MS, NC, NH, NJ, NY, PA, TX.

Collection and Habitat data. Specimens in NH were captured in sifted leaf litter at birch sap drop, in flight intercept and pitfall traps in forests, in silver maple litter by a stream, and in dune habitat. Adults were present from April to October. In Canada found in decaying organic material, under dog scat, on a river margin (flood plain) forest, flood debris on a river bank, in rotting wood chips, in decaying sea wrack on the upper margin of a beach, in compost (decaying vegetables) near a mixed forest, on mushrooms ( Morchella sp. ), and on Pleurotus sp. mushrooms on a dead trembling aspen in a mixed forest ( Klimaszewski et al. 2018).
