Remarks: Christiansen (1964, p. 649) wrote, “I have not seen any specimens from North America of this species, but I have seen young forms of T. vulgaris from Labrador which might be confused with this form. For this reason, I feel it is best to omit this species from the Nearctic fauna until further evidence is available”.
General distribution: Palaearctic and Alaska; the presence of this species in other parts of the Nearctic needs further evidence.
