Diagnosis. Calcinea in which the cormus comprises a typical clathroid body. A stalk may be present. The skeleton contains regular (equiangular and equiradiate) triactines and few tetractines. Diactines may be added. Asconoid aquiferous system (emmend. from Klautau et al. 2013).
Type species. Clathrina hirsuta Klautau & Valentine, 2003 .
