V.: Tropisches Afrika und Asien ( ROBINSON et al. 1994), Ascension Island (ROBINSON & KIRKE 1990), St. Helena ( HOSTS 2005).

Ö/B.: WOLLASTON (1879) bzw. MELLISS (1875) melden die Art nicht, d. h., in Anbetracht der gegenwärtigen Häufigkeit und weiten Verbreitung auf der Insel ist eine spätere Einschleppung wahrscheinlich. Schwerpunkt des Auftretens 1995 waren die mittleren und oberen, humideren Lagen. Larve nach ROBINSON et al. (1994) und HOSTS (2005) an Calthaceae und Olea (hieran auch auf St. Helena [ HOSTS 2005]).
