13. Stillingja salpingadenia subsp. saxatilis var. elliptica Pax & Hoffmann (1912: 1890) . Lectotype (here designated):— PARAGUAY. Cordillera: Bergcampo bei Chololo im Flusstale des Y-aca, December 1900, E. Hassler 6790 (G 00306618!, isolectotypes BM!, G 00306620!). Remaining syntype:— PARAGUAY. Cordillera de los Altos: Loma, K. A. G. Fiebrig 99a (not located). [= Stillingia scutellifera D.J. Rogers (1951: 235) ].
Stillingia salpingadenia subsp. saxatilis var. elliptica was described based on Hassler 6790 and Fiebrig 99a. Hassler 6790 is chosen here as the lectotype. While the original specimen might have been deposited at B and is probably destroyed, we chose the duplicate in G. The var. elliptica then becomes a homotypic synonym of subsp. saxatilis , and should be given the same name as the subspecies (ICN Rec. 26A.1).
