Amirollia furcata sp. n.

Figs. 1J, 2I, 7G–I, 9F–G, 12O, 13H, 16A

Holotype (male): East Malaysia, Sabah: Mt. Kinabalu NP, Poring, 500–700 m, 6°5'N, 116°33'E, 19.ii.1996 (tree nr. 57), leg. A. Floren, depository: Museum Koenig Bonn ( ZFMK).

Diagnosis. The new species is similar to A. ulla ( Gorochov, 2008) . It differs by the male epiproct with parallel lateral margins and truncate apical margin instead of deviating lateral margins and angularly excised apical margin, the branches of the male cerci deviating nearly rectangularly and are little twisted against each other instead of deviating in an acute angle, the narrow apical part of the male subgenital plate have stronger deviating lateral margins, and the phallus is of different shape.

Description. Fastigium verticis faintly furrowed at base, with converging margins; suddenly descending to distinct apical tubercle; separated from fastigium frontis by a shallow gap (Fig. 1J). Fastigium frontis triangular; apex subobtuse. Disc of pronotum flattened with lateral margins subangular; anterior margin substraight; posterior margin rounded on both sides, subtruncate in middle; with faint median carina interrupted by two transverse sulci: first sulcus interrupted in middle; second sulcus V- or Y-shaped, entire. Paranota little longer than high; humeral sinus weak. Tegmen moderately wide, venation similar to the situation in Mirollia : SC and R running side by side except in apical area; RS arises in about middle of tegmen length; RS and M with irregular zigzag course forming a network with spaced cross veins (Fig. 2I). Hind wings surpassing tegmina.

Male. Stridulatory area of tegmen roughly oval with oblique anterior margin (Fig. 12O). Stridulatory file on underside of left tegmen little curved, short and broad, tapering towards apex; 0.94 mm long; teeth moderately dense; with 58 teeth, equating 62 teeth per mm; in basal quarter with 10, in apical half with 5.0 teeth per 0.1 mm (Fig. 13H). Mirror on right tegmen oval with anterior margin faintly concave; with a sinuate transverse depression before middle; 1.28 mm long, 0.98 mm wide; index length: width 1.31 (Fig. 12O). Membranous central area of first abdominal tergite with oval groove; second abdominal tergite with a central, about circular bunch of long hairs; third abdominal tergite also with long hairs in middle, in specimen studied with a glabrous substance sticking to the hairs (Fig. 9F–G). Tenth abdominal tergite with hind margin truncate. Epiproct nearly rectangular with rounded angles; disc little depressed (Fig. 7H). Cerci in basal area conical; before middle divided into two strongly diverging branches; external branch at apex with a sharp tooth; internal branch terminating in a long curved spine (Figs. 7H–I). Subgenital plate moderately wide in basal third with approaching margins; in middle narrow; in apical third with margins diverging, with medial carina; in apical fourth to fifth divided into two narrow triangular obtuse lobes (Fig. 7G). Phallus membranous without sclerites (Fig. 16A).

Female unknown.

Coloration. Yellowish brown due to conservation in alcohol; probably green when alive. Antennae on ventral side (when directed forwards) with broken black band most distinct near base, later fading and with little distinct annulation; on dorsal side unicoloured near base. Pronotum with black dots in dorsal area of paranota. Stridulatory area of tegmen with dark brown spots before and behind stridulatory vein; tegmen along hind margin with medium brown dots in the small cells built by light veinlets; in centre of most large cells built by main veins and cross-veins with a small dark brown spot.

Measurements (1 male). Body w/wings: 24; body w/o wings: 15; pronotum: 3.5; tegmen: 17; hind femur: 10; hind wing: 21.5 mm.
