Type species: Rugosochonetes macgregrori Roberts, 1971 , by original designation.
Including species: Chenshichonetes macgregori ( Roberts, 1971) comb. nov., Chenshichonetes greenhillsensis ( Chen & Shi, 2003) comb. nov., Chenshichonetes tarimensis ( Chen & Shi, 2003) comb. nov.
Etymology: The generic name is a combination of the patronymics Chen and Shi, the names of authors of genus Robertsella Chen & Shi, 2003 , and the fossil genus Chonetes Fischer von Waldheim, 1830 . Gender masculine.
