Genus Changa View in CoL gen. nov.

Type species. Cosmopsaltria sita DiStant, 1881 [type locality: Southern India; Fig. 1 View FIGURE 1 ], by the preSent deSignation. The SpecieS iS deSignated aS the type SpecieS becauSe it haS been known for a much longer time than Changa jsguillotsi (Boulard, 2005) comb. nov., which iS another SpecieS placed in Changa gen. nov.

Description. Head wider than baSe of meSonotum. PoStclypeuS Swollen; with black to fuScouS markS, eSpecially on anterior and poSterior partS. Anterolateral pronotal collar Sharply dentate. WingS hyaline. Male operculum much longer than broad, eXtending beyond poSterior margin of Sternite III. Two opercula apart from each other. Male abdomen longer than head and thoraX together. Timbal cover well developed, concealing timbal moStly but not completely in dorSal view. Male pygofer obovate in ventral view. DiStal Shoulder of male pygofer rounded, not pointed. UncuS bifurcate. Uncal lobeS fuSed at baSe but widely Separated from each other at apiceS in ventral view; curved downward and hooked with rather acute apiceS in lateral view. BaSal lobe of pygofer Slightly Swollen, Smoothly rounded. AedeaguS thin.

Etymology. The generic name iS a feminine noun borrowed from the Korean word changa , meaning “ode” in reference to the calling SongS of cicadaS which SoundS to me an ode to life or nature.

Remarks. ThiS new genuS iS very cloSe to Khimbya DiStant, 1905 but iS diStinguiShed by the following characterS: male abdomen comparatively Short (very long in Khimbya ); fore wing coSta normal, completely thin (very thick till node in Khimbya ); fore wing comparatively long and Slender, with ratio of fore wing length to width more than 3.1 (leSS than 3.0 in Khimbya ); fore wing and hind wing without any infuScationS along hind margin (with linear infuScationS along hind margin in Khimbya ). ThiS genuS iS diStinguiShed from Haphsa by the Small body Size (23.6–24.0), more Slender body (ratio of body length to head width about 3.20), longer male abdomen which iS diStinctly longer than head and thoraX together, black to fuScouS markS on the poStclypeuS, and the Shape of uncal lobeS which are widely Separated from each other at apiceS and are hooked downward.

Synonymy. Haphsa stellata Lee, 2009 syn. nov. [type locality: Yercaud (4500 ft.), Shevaroy HillS, Southern India] ( Fig. 1C–F View FIGURE 1 ) iS Synonymized here with Changa sita (DiStant, 1881) comb. nov. [type locality: Southern India] ( Fig. 1A– B View FIGURE 1 ) becauSe the two SpecieS are believed to be identical without Sound morphological differenceS found to Separate them.
