Megalurothrips sjostedti (Trybom) View in CoL View at ENA
Physopus sjostedti Trybom, 1908: 3 View in CoL
This afrotropical species was described from Tanzania, and is widespread in African countries ( Angola, Comoro Islands, Seychelles, Uganda) (ThripsWiki 2023), also Saudi Arabia, UAE and Yemen ( Martin 1972; zur Strassen & van Harten 2008). It can be distinguished from M. usitatus View in CoL by the longer ovipositor, and posteromarginal S1 setae on sternite VII arise on the margin. In contrast, in M. usitatus View in CoL the ovipositor is short, and posteromarginal S1 setae on sternite VII arise in front of the margin (zur Strassen & van Harten 2008).
