Exothrips sakimurai (Ananthakrishnan) View in CoL
Anaphothrips sakimurai Ananthakrishnan, 1961: 261 View in CoL .
This rare species was described from India ( Ananthakrishnan 1961) and is new to Saudi Arabia. The species is similar to E. hemavarna View in CoL , but can be distinguished by the distance between median metanotal setae being more than three times the distance between the median and sub median setae, and the male fore tibia without a tooth. In contrast, E. hemavarna View in CoL has the distance between the metanotal median setae sub equal to the distance between the median and sub median setae, and the male fore tibia bears a tooth (Bhatti 1975).
Material studied. Al Baha. Thee Ain Village , two females from Cenchrus echinatus , 7.iv.2019, 16 females, two males, three larvae from Brachiaria sp. 25.ix.2020, ( BT); Qilwah, one female Cenchrus sp. 25.ix.2020, ( BT), Rasool, I .
