Eremiothrips farsi Bhatti & Telmadarraiy, 2003: 670 The species was described from Iran (Bhatti et al. 2003) and is new to Saudi Arabia. It is similar to E. similis by which it can be separated by presence of transverse sternal pore plates on segment IV–VII (in contrast to sternites VI–VII in E. similis ). Other important characters to differentiate this species from other members are 9-segmented antennae, and absence of special processes on tergite IX.
Material studied. All macroptera, Madinah, Khayber , four females, two males from Tamarix sp. 22.viii.2022, Rasool, I.
