Thrips manicatus Haliday, 1836: 444 View in CoL .
This Palearctic species, described from England, is widespread throughout Europe and Middle East to Japan and Australia ( Minaei & Mound 2010). It breeds and feeds in the florets of Dactylis spp. and is also associated with many other species of Poaceae View in CoL . C. manicatus View in CoL is close to C. kurdistanus View in CoL from which it can be separated by tergite I with complete craspeda at posterior margin, whereas in C. kurdistanus View in CoL tergite I with crespeda restricted to the median third of posterior margin.
