Thrips tabaci Lindeman, 1889: 61 View in CoL .
This cosmopolitan species, commonly known as onion thrips, is native to southeast Europe It shares most character states with T. speratus View in CoL but tergite IX lacks CPS on anterior half, the ocelli are grey not red, and the pleurotergites have a dense covering of microtrichia in contrast to most species in genus Thrips View in CoL .
