Thrips sexmaculata Pergande, 1891: 539
This is a New World species that was first described from California, and is also known from Alabama, Florida, Georgia and Canada ( Diffie et al. 2008), as well as Egypt and India and is here newly recorded from Saudi Arabia. It is similar to the Old World species S. rhagebianus View in CoL from which it can be distinguished by the entirely pale or shaded abdominal tergites III–VI in contrast to tergites III–VI with dark spots anterolaterally.
Material studied. Al Baha, one female from Chloris barbata , 25.ix.2020 ; Mulail , three females from Cenchrus sp. , 26.ix.2020 ; Qilwah , one female from Cenchrus pennisetiformis , 25.ix.2020 . Riyadh, Dirab , one female, 09.vi.2020 .
