Scolothrips longicornis Priesner, 1926: 239 View in CoL .
This Palearctic species was described from Austria and is widespread in Europe ( Mound 2011b) extending to Southwest Asia and North Africa (zur Strassen 1990; Tunc & Hastenpflug-Vesmanis 2016). In the Arabian Peninsula, this species was recorded from Yemen (zur Strassen & van Harten 2006) and is newly recorded in Saudi Arabia. All the specimens collected were macropterous, except hemimacropterous males, and were found in association with two spotted spider mite, T. urticae .
Material studied. [All collected from populations of Tetranychus urticae except where indicated]. Saudi Arabia, Aqiq , one female from chilly, 23.ix.2020 . Riyadh, Dirab , three females from Withania somnifera leaves, 02.vi.2020 ; three females from leaves of grapes, 23.vii.2020; Saudi Arabia, Al Jawf , nine females, six male hemimacropterae, five larvae on Melon leaves, 23. x.2021 . Saudi Arabia, Taberjal , two females from eggplant leaves, 24. x.2021 . Tabuk, 12 females four males on melon leaves, two females with Eutetranychus sp. on Ficus sp. 23.vi.2021 ; Al Jouf, Basita , three females, with Eutetranychus sp. on almond leaves, 21.vi.2021 . Saudi Arabia, Madinah, three females on lemon leaves .
