Records from Sri Lanka. Demodara, Kandy, Seenigoda ( Attems, 1898; Carl, 1922; Jeekel, 1968).

Distribution. widespread in the tropics; recorded from Mascarene Islands ( Mauritius), India, Indonesia, Taiwan, Oceania, Fiji Islands, Samoa, The Philippines, New Guinea, United States, Venezuela, Suriname, Jamaica, North Mariannas ( Guam), Mauritius, Seychelles, New Caledonia ( Attems, 1914b, 1936, 1937; Carl, 1922; Jeekel, 1968; Shelley & Lehtinen, 1998; Chen et al., 2006; Nguyen & Sierwald, 2013)

Remarks. Two subspecies, Chondromorpha xanthotricha xanthotricha Attems, 1898 and Chondromorpha xanthotricha hamuligera Verhoeff, 1936 , have been also found in Sri Lanka ( Nguyen & Sierwald, 2013).
