Distribution. Widely distributed pantropical species, and especially commonly found on islands. The species has been recorded from Rodrigues Island, Bhamo (Kachlin State, Burma), Java, Sulawesi (=Celebes), St. Martin Island (French West Indies), Mauritius, Saipan ( Mariana Islands, Micronesia), Guam Island ( Micronesia), Aru Islands, Flores, Palau, Vietnam, Guadeloupe, Cuba, the Seychelles, Singapore, Phuket Island ( Thailand), Sumba, Zanzibar, Bermuda, Nuku Hiva (Marquesas), Tahiti, Comoros ( VandenSpiegel & Golovatch, 2007).
