Diagnosis. Compared to its allies, the species has a somewhat larger distal patch on the forewing. The male genitalia are similar to those of T. acutata sp. nov. and T. crassimedia sp. nov., but the valva is broader apically and the aedeagus is much shorter. The female genitalia are characterized by a semicircular signum situated at the middle of the corpus bursae.

Description. Adult ( Fig. 60 View FIGURES 54–61 ). Head: Silvery white. Labial palpus silvery white, palpomere II slightly mixed with grey on outer surface; palpomere III as long as II, fuscous dorsally.Antenna with scape silvery white; flagellum dark fuscous except basal half of dorsal surface mixed with silvery white, male cilia twice as long as diameter.

Thorax: Dorsum and tegula silvery white to grey. Wingspan 6.0–7.5 mm; forewing glossy grey, anterior edge of costa black in basal half; an elliptical orange patch in distal 2/5 of wing between costa and posterior 1/4; a narrow white line extending from costa to tornus between former patch and apical spot; sometimes a small indistinct black spot on termen below apical spot; dorsum suffused with fuscous in distal 1/3, sometimes slightly tinged with orange near tornus; fringe scales grey. Hindwing grey except black at apex and white near apex; fringe scales grey. Legs silvery white; mid-tibia slightly tinged with grey near apex on outer surface; hind tibia grey to dark grey at middle and at apex; mid- and hind tarsi strongly mixed with dark grey.

Abdomen ( Fig. 23 View FIGURES 15–25 ): Male coremata slightly shorter than sternum VIII; sternum VIII sub-pentagonal, approximately 1/7 length of abdomen. Male genitalia ( Fig. 79 View FIGURES 78–83 ) with uncus small, pentagonal, with a medial ridge. Gnathos hook moderately long, acute apically. Tegumen approximately 6 times as long as uncus; papilliform tubercles at middle, each bearing a long single hair ( Fig. 40 View FIGURES 26–45 ). Valva slender and nearly straight in basal half, spatulate distally. Anellus lobe oval, approximately 1/4 or 1/5 length of valva; apical bristle slightly longer than anellus lobe, curved inward. Juxta simple, setose. Vinculum simple, posterior margin broadly convex. Saccus sub-triangular, sometimes constricted at middle, slightly exceeding tegumen pedunculus. Aedeagus with basal half globular, distally sinuous or straight, truncate apically. Female genitalia ( Fig. 94 View FIGURES 91–94 ) with papillae anales simple. Apophyses anteriores approximately half the length of apophyses posteriores. Tergum VIII divided into two sclerites; sternum VIII broadly convex anteriorly, strongly sclerotized along anterior margin. Ostium bursae round, opening at middle of sternum VIII. Ductus bursae slightly constricted after base, then gradually broadening toward corpus bursae. Corpus bursae elongate ovate; signum semicircular, situated near entrance of ductus bursae.

Distribution. China (Hainan).

Etymology. The species name is derived from the Latin brevi - (short) and aedeagus (aedeagus), referring to the short aedeagus.
