Material examined.
No specimens examined.
Diagnosis
(based on the original description of Mickel 1935). Male. Body length 15 mm. Mandible beneath basally slightly widened, without small subbasal denticle beneath. Metasoma black. Metasomal terga 3-4 with pale band. Mesosoma ferruginous except mesopleuron ventrally, propodeum and sterna black. Female unknown.
Distribution.
Malaysia (Sabah, Sarawak) ( Mickel 1935; Lelej 2005).
Remarks.
The males of Promecidia saturnia and Promecidia samawangensis differ in coloration, distribution and body length; therefore we consider these to be distinct species.
