Type locality. Aldea El Naranjo, Chiapas, Mexico.

Bionomics. Little is known about the bionomics of this species. Diaz-Nájera collected adults biting humans and horses in Mexico ( Vargas & Diaz-Nájera, 1961).

Occurrence in Brazil. Amazonas ( Hutchings et al. 2011).
