FAMILY CORIXIDAE View in CoL LEACH
AXEL O. BACHMANN AND SILVIA A. MAZZUCCONI
Corixidae View in CoL is one of the richest families of aquatic bugs in Argentina, with 28 recorded species in 5 genera. Following Hungerford (1948), six subfamilies are currently recognized, of which only the Corixinae View in CoL and Heterocorixinae View in CoL are represented in the Argentinean fauna; the Micronectinae are here treated as a separate family. Hungerford (1948) subdivided the Corixinae View in CoL in four tribes, out of which only Corixini View in CoL is represented in the country.
