Type Locality: Costa Rica, Cartago Prov., Volcán de Irazú, 9400 ft ( 2865 m).

Vernacular Names: Rodriguez's Harvest Mouse.

Distribution: Patchily recorded in the Cordilleras Central and Talamancae, C Costa Rica (see McPherson, 1985; Timm et al., 1989).

Conservation: IUCN – Vulnerable.

Discussion: Subgenus Aporodon , tenuirostris species group.
