Notes.
Stigmaphyllon comprises 119 currently accepted species (60 threatened species; Suppl. material 1) of shrubs, subshrubs or lianas endemic to rainforests, savannas, and seasonally dry tropical forests of the Americas (from Mexico to Argentina), West Africa ( Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Senegal, and Sierra Leone), Southeast Asia ( Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Timor-Leste), and Oceania ( Australia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu, and New Caledonia; POWO 2024).
