Jamaica 2: 98, t. 206, f. 2. 1725. - Typotype: Herb. Sloane 7: 16 ( BM-SL) .
Current name: Sideroxylon salicifolium (L.) Lam. View in CoL View at ENA ( Sapotaceae ).
Note: Howard (Fl. Lesser Antilles 6: 69. 1989) and Pennington (Fl. Neotropica 52: 149. 1990) both treated material in Herb. Sloane ( BM-SL) as the type. However, it was not seen by Linnaeus and is not original material for the name.
