Sphingonotus obscuratus samnuensis Usmani & Ajaili, 2001
Diagnosis: Similar to S. o. obscuratus and S. o. lameerei but differs from them by its median carina distinct along the whole length of metazona except at posterior margin; length of metazona about twice as long as prozona; apical part of tegmina transparent without any brown spot, the basal third brownish.
Habitats: Only three females were collected, all at night close to a lamp.
Material examined: Sebha region: Samnu , 3♀, on light, 5.iv.1996 .
Localities: Fezzan: Sebha: Samnu.
Distribution: Libya.
Remarks: The subspecies S. o. samnuensis seems to have the most restricted distribution, having been described and reported so far only from Samnu in Sebha region.
